Personalised Nutrition Support on the Sunshine Coast

What if the food you eat could become your most powerful tool for feeling vibrant, balanced and truly well? Working with a nutritionist who understands your unique body, lifestyle and health goals can transform the way you nourish yourself.

We're delighted to welcome Ava Payze to the Pomona Holistic Health team. Ava brings a beautiful blend of evidence-based nutrition science and intuitive, holistic care to support you on your wellness journey

Meet Ava

Ava is a qualified nutritionist currently completing her Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathy. Her approach honours both modern nutritional science and the innate wisdom of your body - because true health comes from understanding and supporting the whole person.

Ava's journey into holistic health began at childhood, with an appreciation for nourishing whole foods, herbal medicine and grounding rituals. This foundation continues to guide her practice today, with food as medicine sitting at the heart of her philosophy.

When she's not seeing clients, you'll find Ava cooking in the kitchen, tending her herb and flower garden, or enjoying the beach with her two beloved dogs. Her purpose is to help you feel grounded, energised and deeply connected to your body through nutrition, gentle lifestyle shifts and a holistic understanding of your inner health.

How Ava Can Support You

Cutting Through the Diet Noise

Keto, paleo, carnivore, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, low FODMAP, intermittent fasting—the sheer volume of dietary advice out there can be overwhelming and contradictory. What works brilliantly for one person may leave another feeling worse. So how do you know what's actually right for you?

Ava can help you cut through the confusion and find an eating approach tailored specifically to your body. Rather than following the latest trend or a one-size-fits-all plan, she considers your personal health history, family history, current symptoms, lifestyle and goals. Where relevant, blood testing and genetic testing can provide even deeper insights into how your unique body processes nutrients, handles different foods and what it truly needs to thrive.

The result? An evidence-based, personalised approach to eating - including what foods work best for you, optimal meal timing and the specific nutrients your body needs—rather than another generic diet that may or may not suit your individual biology.

Women's Health and Hormonal Balance

Your hormones influence everything - energy, mood, sleep, skin, weight and so much more. Ava has a special interest in helping women understand their hormonal cycle and discover how food, nutrients, stress, movement and sleep all work together to support hormonal harmony.

Whether you're navigating irregular cycles, PMS, perimenopause or simply want to feel more in tune with your body's rhythms, Ava can help you understand your unique hormonal picture and create an eating approach that supports balance.

Nutrition for Athletes and Active People

Whether you're a competitive athlete or simply passionate about staying active, what you eat profoundly impacts your performance, recovery and long-term health. Ava works with athletes to optimise nutrition so you can train effectively, recover well and maintain your health for the long haul.

Restoring Gut Health and Digestive Wellbeing

If you're constantly bloated no matter what you eat, struggling with sluggish digestion, or feeling like something just isn't quite right in your gut, you're not alone and you don't have to just put up with it. Your gut does so much more than digest food; it influences your immunity, mood, energy, skin and hormonal balance, making gut health truly foundational to feeling your best.

Ava can help you uncover what's really going on beneath the symptoms. Rather than simply masking discomfort or cutting out food groups unnecessarily, she takes a thorough approach—looking at your nutrition, lifestyle factors like stress and sleep, and where appropriate, comprehensive gut testing to get a clear picture of your microbiome, digestive function and any underlying imbalances.

From there, Ava can guide you through targeted nutrition and lifestyle recommendations designed to calm inflammation, support a healthy microbiome, ease bloating and restore the comfortable, energised digestion you deserve. The goal isn't restriction for the sake of it, it's helping your gut work the way it's meant to, so you can enjoy food again and feel good in your body.

Preparing for Pregnancy and Growing Your Family

The months before conception are a powerful window for optimising your health- and your future baby's health too. Ava believes that preparing for pregnancy is a journey for both partners, and she loves supporting couples through this meaningful time.

Her preconception care focuses on nourishing your body to support fertility, create the best possible environment for a healthy pregnancy, and give your baby the strongest start in life.

Supporting Your Journey with GLP-1 Medications

If you're using weight loss medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, Saxenda, Mounjaro or Trulicity, working with a nutritionist can help you get the best possible results while protecting your health. These medications can reduce appetite significantly, making it essential to ensure you're getting adequate protein to protect against muscle loss, along with key nutrients like calcium and vitamin D for healthy bones. Ava can help you develop nourishing eating patterns that work with your medication to support sustainable outcomes.

What to Expect

Your Initial Consultation

Your first appointment gives Ava time to truly understand you, your full health history, current concerns, lifestyle, and what you're hoping to achieve. Together, you'll explore what's working, what isn't, and begin creating a personalised nutrition approach that fits your real life—not a generic plan that looks good on paper but doesn't work in practice.

To set you up for success from day one, your initial consultation includes:

  • A comprehensive review of your full health history and a deep dive into your health goals, so every recommendation is tailored to where you are now and where you want to be

  • A personalised 7-day meal plan designed around your preferences, lifestyle and nutritional needs—taking the guesswork out of what to eat

  • Practical food ideas and recipes to make healthy eating feel achievable, enjoyable and sustainable rather than restrictive

  • Lifestyle recommendations covering the everyday factors that influence how you feel—sleep, stress, movement and daily routines—so your whole life supports your goals, not just what's on your plate

  • Functional testing where appropriate, to uncover deeper insights into what's really happening in your body and guide truly targeted recommendations

  • Supplementation guidance if required, with thoughtful, evidence-based recommendations to fill nutritional gaps and support your individual needs—never a one-size-fits-all approach

  • Meaningful metrics to track your progress, so you can see real changes unfolding and stay motivated throughout your journey

This initial consultation is the beginning of your journey, not a one-off fix. It's the foundation we build everything else on—giving you clarity, direction and the tools to start making changes that actually last.

Ongoing Support for Lasting Change

Real, sustainable change doesn't happen in a single appointment. Unlike fad diets that promise quick results but leave you back where you started within weeks, we focus on building lasting habits that become a natural part of how you live and eat.

We recommend monthly follow-up appointments to keep your momentum going and continue building on the changes you've already made. These regular check-ins allow Ava to troubleshoot any challenges, adjust your approach as your body responds, and help you stay motivated when life gets busy or old habits try to creep back in.

Think of it like tending a garden - consistent care and attention yields far better results than occasional bursts of effort followed by neglect. Each appointment builds on the last, gradually creating a way of eating that truly supports your health for the long term.

Why Regular Follow-ups Matter

  • Accountability and motivation: Having a scheduled appointment keeps you focused and moving forward

  • Troubleshooting: Address challenges before they derail your progress

  • Personalised adjustments: Fine-tune your approach based on how your body is responding

  • Building confidence: Celebrate wins and reinforce what's working

  • Long-term success: Create sustainable habits rather than short-term fixes that don't stick

Your health is a lifelong journey, and having consistent support makes all the difference.

  • Initial Consultation (60 minutes): $185 (This includes a 7-day meal plan)
